The Midlothian Business Alliance held its Economic Development Update Luncheon on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Chesterfield Economic Development, 7053 Celebration Park Avenue, Suite 500, North Chesterfield, VA 23225, within Springline at District 60. Matt McLaren, Deputy Director, gave an overview of recent Chesterfield economic development initiatives — new projects both large and small — and took questions afterward. Attendance was capped at 45, and the lunch was sponsored by Data Directions, Inc., the Richmond application development and website design firm of long-time MBA member Frank Petroski.

The venue
The EDA's office sits within Springline at District 60, which the Alliance described as a new mixed-use urban village and gateway development combining places to live, work, shop, play and stay. The Alliance also billed the lunch as close-knit networking among fellow business owners.
