The postponement
In an email sent on the morning of February 20, subject-lined "EVENT TODAY POSTPONED," the Alliance apologized for the short notice and said that road conditions, Chesterfield County Government offices being closed until noon, and other factors had made postponement necessary. It had hoped to stay on schedule, it wrote, but everyone's safety came first. The lunch went ahead the following Thursday.
