Tequila Sunrise Mexican Kitchen & Cantina opened at 11581 Robious Road, in the space formerly occupied by Fox & Hound. Carlos Londoño, co-owner of the Shockoe-area restaurants Papi's, La Bodega, Casa Fiesta and Margarita's, opened it with his wife, Adrienne; both were local to Midlothian. The restaurant
Londoño described the restaurant's theme and décor to Richmond BizSense, which first reported the opening, saying he went all out with neons and paintings and that "Anywhere you look, your eyeballs are always busy." He said he wanted to give people something they did not otherwise see in Midlothian. The restaurant opened with a full bar and an outdoor patio.
