Chesterfield County held a Design Public Hearing on the Woolridge Road Extended Project (Rt. 288 – Old Hundred Road) as a virtual event only, using a Zoom meeting on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The format gave citizens an opportunity to ask questions about the project using Zoom's chat feature.

The project and the materials
Chesterfield County had long planned an extension of Woolridge Road from its terminus at Route 288, with a planned future connection to Old Hundred Road. All materials that would typically have been provided at an in-person meeting were posted on the project website at chesterfield.gov/roadprojects and remained there through January 26, 2021. Those materials included a handout with project details, exhibits showing the project alignment and proposed improvements, roadway and bridge typical sections, roundabout details, a traffic study, the environmental document and a video of the roundabout operations.
Why the MBA carried it
Chris Jenkins, the MBA's Director of Community Affairs, told members that while the project was slightly outside the MBA's footprint, the alliance believed it would affect the flow of traffic in the area and that members might therefore find it important.
