On June 10, 2020 the Midlothian Business Alliance passed along two ways Chesterfield was helping businesses get back to business during COVID-19: leftover Forward RVA start-up kits, and a Back in Business grant program then being developed by the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce, Chesterfield Economic Development and Chesterfield County.

Forward RVA start-up kits
The Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce, Chesterfield Economic Development and Chesterfield County took part in "Forward RVA," handing out start-up kits to small businesses. Kits contained facemasks, gloves, hand sanitizer, "We Are Open" window stickers and "We Are Open" yard signs. Kits were left over afterward, and Midlothian businesses that needed the supplies — or knew someone who did — were directed to Chesterfield Economic Development at [email protected] or (804) 318-8550.
Back in Business grant program
The same three organizations were working on a "Back in Business" grant program, with details carried in a linked press release. In the same notice, the MBA asked members what they wanted to see from the alliance during the pandemic and how it could better serve them.
